Hi. I'm back.
Where I have been, my recent trip to the Caymans, and what I am obsessing over
Hi. I’m back. The past few months have been some of the busiest, best, and most stressful months. Writing this substack, which is usually hobby, started to feel like a chore. I also didn’t really feel like I had anything to write about that felt worth your time. Anyways now I do, so I am back.
Last week I was in the Cayman Islands where I spent a few days with my family for July 4th. When you have a child, vacations with your family suddenly become more relaxing than vacations without. After spending June bouncing between Turks & Caicos, the Hamptons, Blackberry Farm, and obviously home in NYC, I am looking forward to be back in the city for a while.
We come to the Caymans a lot, and I love it here as it feels so casual. I know most Caribbean islands do, but there is something about the Caymans that feels extra chill. We stay in a condo, but its very close to the chicest hotel, Palm Heights, so we have a lot of our meals there. They also have the most beautiful gift shop/ coffee shop that we got matcha at every AM. I fell in love with this charm in the shop. Adding it to my list. Every time I come I say I will finally try the spa, as they have my favorite Ricari treatments, but of course I ran out of time. My sister and I tried a Pilates studio this trip, Form, which was nice to do each morning. I also love Island Naturals, which I can walk to from where we stay.

The past few months
Its been almost 8 months since my son, JR, was born. Month 1 was a blur. Month 2-4 felt like a mess, but I had the excuse of “postpartum” or “newborn.” Months 5-7 still felt like a mess, but I no longer felt like I could use the excuses I did in the earlier months. I have always been the person who “has it together” and that can “do it all,” so I thought at 6 months postpartum I would feel like myself again and have it all figured out.
What I am now realizing is that you will never feel like yourself again. I heard that a lot when I was pregnant and it scared me to death. Now, it still feels scary, but also is exciting. I don’t have enough time to be the person I used to be and care about the things that I used to care about. Currently, I am working on understanding my new life and new priorities, however as a business owner this feels a bit more complex.
One of my favorite parts about owning a business has been that you get what you put in. i.e. If you are in a really busy season of life and need to slow down the growth of your business you can. If you are ready to jump in full speed ahead you can as well. I have been fortunate enough to be able to run my business in this way since inception. What is tougher now is that my life constantly feels like I am in that “busy season.” So how I am I going to expand my business in this new, eternal busy season?
On one hand I want to grow my business to exceed all expectations and never stop. On the other hand I want to keep things as simple as possible. I think the answer is something in the middle. Life as a mom after your first baby is something I don’t think anyone can understand until you go through it. I have the most supportive, understanding husband, and I don’t think even he can understand. Friends that have newly gone through this same season are very helpful.
All of this to say that I have been figuring out my new day-to-day over the past few months, but I am excited to be back on this platform. I plan to share more about how I am managing things, because I think some things will surprise you. I also want to start to share more about TERA in general and what it takes to open, operate, and expand a successful referral-only Pilates Studio.
My Current Obsessions
I am currently doing an overhaul of my activewear line up. One of my new favorite brands is FP Movement. My favs right now are this long sleeve, these pants, this sports bra, and I am ordering these capris as we speak.
If I can influence you to buy literally anything let it be this perfect tank top.
The Chick-fil-a grilled chicken cool wrap. 34g protein!!! Going to attempt to make something like this at home. I used chat GPT to find the exact wraps they use.
These socks for when I am not in TERA grip socks. If you are on your feet all day (like me) you’ll thank me for these.
Finally getting around to using some of the skincare that has been gifted to me and I have been loving these toner pads, this night cream, and this moisturizer.
Beverages. I know I am basic but loving Loonen Still Water, Strange Water Coconut Water, and the holy grail de-bloat tea.
On my Radar

Looking to try some “natural botox” aka cosmetic acupuncture
Just ordered got this protein powder since I am trying to get back into smoothies every AM.
